Harmony Gold Mining Company Ltd and its subsidiaries and associates undertake underground and surface gold mining and related activities including exploration, processing, smelting and beneficiation, which conducts its activities in South Africa and in Papua New Guinea.\r\n\r\nThe South African operations include: eight underground operations, one open-pit mine, and several surface source operations:\r\n• Moab Khotsong - underground goldfield in Klerksdorp has a (Life of Mine) LOM of 20 years\r\n• Tshepong Operations - includes the Tshepong North with a LOM of 7 years and Tshepong South with a LOM of 6 years\r\n• Target 1 - has a LOM of 5 years\r\n• Joel - tailings reclamation: a prefeasibility study is underway to investigate the potential benefits of recovering gold from reclaimed tailings - has a LOM of 6 years\r\n• Masimong - has a 2 year LOM \r\n• Mponeng - Underground gold mine and has a LOM of 20 years\r\n• Doornkop - South Reef, Main Reef and Kimberley Reef and has a LOM of 18 years\r\n• Kusaselethu - has a LOM of 3 years\r\n• Bambanani - Placed under care and maintenance\r\n\r\nSouth Africa Surface operations include:\r\n• Kalgold open pit (located on the Kraaipan Green Stone Belt) and tailings dam - has a LOM of 12 years\r\n• Waste Rock Dumps in the Free State, North West and West Rand all with a LOM of approximately 1 year\r\n\r\nTailings Operations include:\r\n• Mine Waste Solutions (MWS) - reclamation of gold from tailings storage with a LOM of 4 years\r\n• Savuka Tailings in the West Rand with a LOM of 3 years \r\n• Phoenix - tailings management, with a LOM of 4 years\r\n• Central Plant - Reclamation with a LOM of 11 years\r\n\r\nSouth African Projects:\r\n• Zaaiplaats project at Moab Khotsong. It has an expected LOM of 21 years\r\n• Maob Khotsong: Great Noligwa shaft pillar extraction\r\n• MWS Kareerand is an extension of MWS\r\n• Target 1 optimisation \r\n• Doornkop Expansion\r\n• Renewables is set to build PV plants, wheeling of wind renewable energy, syngas (or LNG) generated electricity as well as small scale solar PV plants\r\n\r\nPapua New Guinea operations:\r\n• Hidden Valley - is an open pit gold and silver mine situated in the Morobe province, approximately 210 kilometers north west of Port Moresby. It has a LOM of 5 years\r\n• 50% interest in the Morobe Mining Joint Venture, which includes the Wafi-Golpu project and extensive exploration tenements, with a LOM of 26 years\r\n\r\nPapua New Guinea projects:\r\n• Eva Copper with a LOM of 15 years
