Pick n Pay Stores Ltd is an investment holding company that trades through its subsidiaries in South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The group wholesales and retails food, groceries, liquor, clothing, pharmaceuticals and general merchandise. As of 25 February 2025, the group's operations covered a total of 2,269 stores, including 1,498 group-owned stores (2,080 of these stores are located within South Africa).

The Pick n Pay Group has a customer loyalty programme, Smart Shopper, which customers are rewarded with points that can be redeemed against future purchases. The loyalty programme has over 9.5 million active members.
