Sasol Ltd is the holding company for an integrated energy and chemicals group active in the production and marketing of liquid fuels, pipeline gas, chemicals, waxes, plastics and other specialty chemical products. The group also mines coal for its integrated Southern African value chain. Operating divisions are as follows: • Chemicals Business: This division is organised into 3 regional operating segments, namely Chemicals Africa, Chemicals America and Chemicals Eurasia and has the following sub-divisions: - Base Chemicals – Provides critical raw materials including ethylene, ethylene oxide, monoethylene glycol (MEG) and polyethylene (PE) to the market and Sasol's own assets for captive use in its value chains. - Care Chemicals - Produces linear alkyl benzene (LAB), alcohols, sodium lauryl ether sulfates (SLES), n-paraffins, alcohol ethoxylates, polyethylene glycols (PEG), EO/PO derivatives, biosurfactants and insect oil ethoxylates for fabric and home care, industrial and institutional cleaning, and personal care markets. - Technical Formulations – Focuses on differentiated, higher-margin specialty products including linear alcohols, branched alcohols, plasticisers, alcohol derivatives and specialty alkoxylates. - Advanced Materials – Produces tailor-made high-purity aluminas used in engineered abrasives, technical ceramics and catalytic applications. - Chemicals Africa operations include Secunda and Sasolburg in South Africa. - Chemicals America operations include Lake Charles and Tucson in the United States. - Chemicals Eurasia operations include Germany (Brunsbüttel, Marl), Italy (Augusta, Terranova, Sarroch), China (Nanjing) and Slovakia (Nováky). • Southern Africa Energy and Chemicals: Operates integrated value chains with feedstock sourced from the Mining and Gas segments and processed at Secunda Operations, Sasolburg Operations and Natref. Associated assets include the Pande-Temane Petroleum Production Agreement (PPA), Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) in Mozambique, and ORYX GTL in Qatar. The business consists of: - Mining - Supplies coal feedstock to the Southern African value chain. Export coal production ceased on 30 June 2025 and final export sales concluded in financial year 2026. - Gas - Includes upstream gas production in Mozambique, gas transportation through the ROMPCO pipeline, methane-rich gas (MRG), natural gas, LPG and condensate sales. - Fuels - Includes liquid fuels production, refining, marketing and sales in South Africa. Includes Sasol’s ORYX GTL joint venture in Qatar. - Chemicals Africa The company also has operations in Mozambique and Qatar (Ras Laffan).
