Argent Industrial Ltd is the holding company for a group predominately involved in industrial manufacturing and steel trading. The group is organised into three major operating divisions, namely manufacturing, steel trading and properties. The company has 24 operating units that operate throughout South Africa, the United Kingdom and North America. The company's subsidiaries operate through its divisions as follows: • Manufacturing division: manufactures and distributes branded consumer goods that are sold both locally and internationally South Africa: - Argent Industrial Engineering - supplies the building and civil industries with material used for building of roads, dams and the production of concrete (site batching ready-mix) - Castor and Ladder - manufactures and supplies castors and wheels, fibreglass and aluminium ladders, Aldek aluminium scaffolding, Caslift pallet trucks, storage systems, trolleys, conveyors, Scafflite, Rolasteps, aluminium structures such as stages & platforms as well as access equipment - Hendor Mining Supplies - manufactures scrapers - Jetmaster - manufactures fireplaces - Koch's Cut & Supply Steel Centre - specialises in profiling of plate, plasma cutting of stainless steel and aluminium, general fabrication and welding work - Megamix - supplies readymix concrete and mortars, technical advice, and support - Toolroom Services - supplies tooling to the office furniture industry (amalgamated with Castor and Ladder.) - Tricks Wrought Iron Services - manufactures fencing, gates, balustrades, infill panels, burglar guards, low cost toilets, and miscellaneous products for domestic to industrial markets - Xpanda Security - range of approved anti-burglar protection and deterrent security products - Pro Crane Services - provides cranes, hoists and lifting equipment, services and advice - Lifting Online - an online store that supplies lifting and rigging equipment, delivering throughout sub Saharan Africa - American Shutters - a supplier of stylish door and window shutter systems providing privacy, light control and security in various materials and finishes United States: - New Joules Engineering - manufactures and supplies speed control systems for marshaling yards United Kingdom: - Cannock Gates - manufactures and retails wrought iron gates, wooden gates, wrought iron railings, decking panels, gate automation, fixtures and fittings, posts, security products and bonfires / wood burners - OSA Door Parts - manufactures and supplies industrial doors and particularly insulated sectional doors - Partington Engineering - manufactures material handling equipment of cash and carry trolleys - Fuel Proof - manufactures bunded fuel storage equipment - Roll-tech - manufactures roll-over protection bars for construction machinery as well as being the rental agent for Fuel Proof, renting out its product into the European market - FloFuel - delivering bespoke solutions to meet complex refuelling needs • Steel Trading division: trades and distributes a range of ferrous steel, aluminium and stainless steel products - Gammid Trading - supplies all commercial grades of aluminium in sheet, plate, coil, painted coil, gutter coil and have a wide range of extrusions - Phoenix Steel - supplies plate, hot rolled sheets, galvanised sheets, light and heavy sections, tubing, cold formed sections and roof sheeting • Properties division: - Property portfolio through subsidiary, Argent Industrial Investments As of 31 March 2023, the group's property portfolio included 7 properties valued at R220.0m.
