Vodacom Group Ltd is an investment holding company that operates through its subsidiaries and provides communications products and services including, but not limited to, voice, messaging, broadband and data connectivity and converged services. It operates in five countries namely South Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Mozambique and Tanzania and has a number of regional business offices throughout Africa, including offices in Ivory Coast, Angola, Kenya, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Mauritius, Zambia and Ghana. As of 31 March 2023, the group had: • 185.8 million customers across its operations (South Africa: 70.6 million customers) • Total assets of R228.31bn • 242,650 base station sites Vodacom offers various payment and lending services, including business funding as well as offering the Talking Points loyalty rewards programme to pre-paid customers. It has partnered with the Alibaba Group to offer an ecommerce platform called vodapay, which allows customers to shop online as well as make standard mobile payments.
